First Bell 505 Jet Ranger X Letter of Intent in the Philippines for PhilJets Group

SINGAPORE AIRSHOW – Singapore Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced the first Bell 505 letter of intent (LOI) in the Philippines to PhilJets Group. The aircraft will be outfitted for corporate and VIP transport for flights throughout the region. This signing is testament to the growing demand of this aircraft and brings the current LOI count to more than 350 worldwide.

328 Design GmbH achieves first FAA STC for Dassault Falcon 50EX major cabin modernization

328 Design GmbH (328DO), part of the 328 Group, the Germany-based refurbishment, completions and aircraft maintenance specialist, has successfully achieved the first Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Dassault Falcon 50EX from the US FAA under the FAA/EASA bilateral safety agreement.

The STC covers extensive cabin refurbishment including the replacement of the legacy Cabin Management System/In-flight Entertainment (CMS/IFE) with Rockwell Collins’ Fusion state-of-the-art CMS/IFE including T-PED (Transmitting Portable Electronic Device) connectivity via Wi-Fi. Additional features include a complete cabin refurbishment, replacing all hard and soft materials, the installation of new LED cabin lighting and galley modification.

The project was achieved in collaboration with USA-based Duncan Aviation at the company’s full service facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. This latest STC marks 328DO’s 21st collaboration with Duncan Aviation in the four years the companies have been working together.

The validation process posed a number of challenges as the project has been classified as a non-standard STC. However, following extensive collaboration and support from both EASA and the FAA, 328 Design GmbH was able to overcome the difficulties.

Leading the project was Jörg Gorkenant, Chief Operating Officer and Head of 328DO.  He commented: “We are delighted to receive this first STC for the Dassault Falcon 50EX from the FAA. 328DO has become renowned for its expertise on certification capabilities and this represents another major milestone for the company.”

The awarding of the STC follows a significant track record of success in certification achievements for 328DO, who have to date amassed STCs and minor mods approvals on various aircraft types.

328DO has collaborated with Duncan Aviation on EASA STC approvals for aircraft including the Bombardier Challenger Series, Global Express, Dassault Falcon 900EX and 2000 as well as 7X and Citation 560XL

PT Whitesky Aviation Signs Agreement With Bell Helicopter for New Innovative Parts Service Plan

For electronic systems, Textron Systems will display the Man-Portable Aircraft Survivability Trainer (MAST™), which accurately replicates the visual effects of an infrared (IR) threat-based weapon to stimulate UV-based aircraft survivability equipment systems for more realistic aircrew training events.

In the area of smart weapons, Textron Systems will exhibit its advanced G-CLAW™and Fury® precision weapon systems. The lightweight G-CLAW precision guided weapon system offers a global positioning system (GPS), as well as flexible delivery options from a variety of aircraft systems and multi-mission employment options for land and sea targets. The Fury precision guided weapon system delivers a precision strike capability against both soft targets and static or moving vehicles. The small, lightweight glide weapon is designed for carriage on multiple platforms. Fury utilizes Semi-Active Laser (SAL) and GPS guidance, and is proven in testing to be accurate within one meter of a designated target.

Also on display will be the Spider™ man-in-the-loop system consisting of sensors, communications and munitions, and the flexible, easy to use MicroObserver™Unattended Ground Sensor system. In addition, the Sensor-Fuzed Weapon (SFW™), Textron Systems’ smart and highly-reliable area weapon system will also be on display. The SFW is an air-to-ground area weapon designed to defeat multiple moving and fixed vehicular targets on land and at sea – including heavy armored battle tanks, missile launchers, armored personnel carriers and maritime threats.

TRU Simulation + Training

In 2014, Boeing selected TRU Simulation + Training to produce the very first 737 MAX Flight Training Suite. During the Singapore Air Show, TRU will team with Boeing to offer tours of the Boeing Singapore Training and Flight Services facility and provide demonstrations of the TRU-built Boeing 737NG full motion flight simulator—predecessor to the Boeing 737 MAX flight training device now in development. Attendance is by reservation only; the event will occur on Thursday, February 18, from 16:00 to 20:00.

With more than 2,900 orders recorded for the 737 MAX as of October 2015, this planned event is to give attendees a real sense of the future—both for commercial flight and pilot training. TRU Simulation + Training will also have senior executives available to answer questions about TRU’s full suite of flight and aviation maintenance training products and services.

Vector  Aerospace signs exclusive long-term agreement with Broome Air Services and Hinterland Aviation

Brisbane, AUSVector Aerospace (www.vectoraerospace.com), a global independent provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an exclusive long-term engine service agreement with JNP Enterprises, owner of Broome Air Services (BAS), based in Western Australia and Hinterland Aviation, based in Queensland (QLD), Australia.

As per the terms of the five-year agreement, Vector Aerospace will provide comprehensive engine MRO services in support of the combined BAS and Hinterland Aviation fleet of Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PT6A turboprop applications, including the Cessna 208 Caravan, Beechcraft King Air B200 and Beechcraft B1900C, along with several other piston-powered light aircraft . Vector will provide these services from its P&WC authorized PT6A Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

PT6A MRO services provided by Vector under the agreement will include engine repair, hot section inspections, testing, modifications and overhaul services.

Operators in the Asia-Pacific region also benefit from the support of Vector’s Mobile Repair Team (MRT), which is available to provide on-site repairs at customer locations as well as responsive aircraft on ground (AOG) support.
